Pastel Painted Earrings
That has been the question of the day for me lately.
As a child, I've always enjoyed coloring in my coloring book. Today, I enjoy the process of mixing mediums, gouache, acrylic paints, markers, and inks.
I like to experiment with different types of brush techniques, and paint on various types of surfaces.
Over the years , I've found myself painting on everything from garments to eyeglasses....and of course the traditional paper, and canvas.
Jewelry design has also been quite a creative passion of mine as well. I started designing jewelry upon finishing college. I enrolled into several continuing education courses, and intensive jewelry arts courses.
Upon the completion of my first jewelrymaking class for beginners...I was hooked. I went out and purchased my first bag of assorted beads, head pins, and earwires. I couldn't wait to get home to sort, assemble, and practice, practice, practice.
I became fascinated by using the tools and equipment required to create jewelry, and still work at perfecting my skills today.
So there you have it....I decided to merge the two artforms, and came up painted pastel earring designs..

Pimped Out Postcard...Flickr
I am involved with over 100 artist groups on Flickr, and keeping busy trying to meet the demands of each group!
Just received my postcard from Dog Tired on Flickr. Post cards were mailed out to a large number of artist to be re-created in any way that the artist wishes.
The postcard read "London Eye"....I decided to draw a fashionable well dressed lady wearing all black standing next to an enormous wheel that sits off to her far right in the back ground.
The postcard is signed "to sir with love"...Maybe I had a bit of a flash back from watching sooo many 007 movies, and that's what inspired me most about receiving this postcard in the mail.
The project was quite fun....looking forward to doing more postcards with this group on flickr.
Each week, I try to add fresh pics to Flickr for your review (see flickr badge/photos at top of my blog)

Pen & Ink Drawing
Lately I have been inspired to create mainly in black in white. I love to work with black higgins ink on white paper. By squeezing the ink directly from its squeeze top applicator, I came up with several sticker art combinations.
Had several postal labels lying around, and thought that these mini works of art could be great to stick on notebooks, journals, and added to collages.

Daily Art Journal
Today was kinda hectic at the post office..the line was almost hanging out of the door. Luckly, the clerks were able to assist me without having to wait half the morning...I mailed off 2 aceo cards from a previous swap. One card was sent within the states (shipped first class mail) , and the other was mailed to Austrailia...Today will mark my first day to mail to Austrailia, and I was anxious to find out what the shipping cost would be, and timeframe of having it sent intl.from the us...airmailed it away...whalla
The day is finally winding down, and I can work on my art journal...decided to go with apple green wash on the pages today.

Daily Art Journal
Today is Fathers Day!
Fathers Day is a holiday that I think we should all celebrate.
Happy Fathers Day to all dads that are doing a magnificent job, and setting great examples in life. This picture is part of my journal, and is representative of how fathers sometimes have to provide for those of the same...and sometimes different species in life.
